Intermediate OCAD practical theoretical

Course Description

This in demand course takes place over two 3-hour sessions in the classroom. In the first session participants will learn how to use OCAD's lidar processing Wizard to turn raw lidar files into highly detailed base materials for orienteering mapping. In the second session students will learn about some basic lidar theory and spend more time learning how to interpret the various base material output by OCAD's lidar wizard.

Additional Information

This calendar entry is for Day 2 of this two day course. Each day is 3 hours long including a break to get up and stretch in the middle. 

Day one takes place on Wednesday, February 21st.


Coming Prepared

This course uses OCAD, which is a paid mapping software but for this course, all participants will be provided with a free license for the duration. Instructions on setting up the software will be provided via email after registration. 

Participants do not need previous experience using OCAD. 

Using Zoom
A zoom link will be provided to registered participants by email. Please be set up ready to go for the start of the class with working audio and the software downloaded and installed so we don't have to take precious course time to sort that out.

Please participate from a laptop or desktop computer so you can use the software as intended. We strongly recommend you connect to zoom from a second device so you can follow the instructor on zoom while using your computer to practice the skills being presented.
