In 2023 I started creating a set of reference sheets that, in a concise useful way, show the minimum dimensions for various gaps and symbols as listed in the IOF mapping specifications. I was working on some maps and realised partway through that I had several area features that I was consistently drawing below minimum dimensions so I started looking through to find the various minimum dimensions and writing them into a spreadsheet for reference to fix them and draw them correctly for the rest of the map. I then upgraded that spreadsheet to a nice pdf document that shows the minimum dimensions at 1:15,000, 1:10,000, footprint size, and what that looks like against common point symbols such as knolls, boulders, individual trees, etc. It's important to have a visual sense of how large they should be.
You can find them at the following links. I will add more as I complete them.
